From the famous mouth of our youngest….

(Not wanting to look up the word “city” in the dictionary, he proclaims that he already knows the definition!)  “City – A city is a place that has lots of fancy clothes and has lots of stores, has airplanes, has a lot of bridges, and it has alot and alot of TOYS!”

The dictionary’s version:  “city – a large important center of population and business activity”

I would say he’s pretty close, wouldn’t you? 🙂

Maybe it’s time to cut back on the use of technology in our house….

After telling the 4 year old that I was concerned because I couldn’t talk to Daddy since the instant messenger system was down, he walks over to the phone, picks it up, puts it in my hand, and very casually says, “Here”!

(The Three Year Old playing “I Spy”)

Three-Year Old:  “I spy something black and red.”

(Sister #1 points out an object)

Three-Year Old:  “Nooooo”

(Dad points out an object)

Three-Year Old:  “Nooooo”

(Brother points out an object)

Three-Year Old:  “Nooooo”

Sister gives up.  Dad gives up.  Brother gives up.

Three-Year Old:  “It’s that picture of us on the wall!  See?  Blue and White!”

Sister:  “Wait, silly!  You said “black and red”, not “blue and white”!?”

Three-Year Old:  “Oohhhhhh!  ……Sorry!”

(Next round….)

Three-Year Old:  “What’s big, blue and has rings?”

(Everyone guesses again, incorrectly, and then gives up…)

Three-Year Old:  “It’s Momma!”

Okay…time to quit playing “I Spy”!

More “wisdom” from the three year old…

Both of the boys were running through the house (again).  I called them to my room and decided to try and make them think:

Mom:     “I have asked you both to stop running through the house.  Two different times, I have asked you to stop!  You kept running, and now I’ve had to say it again.  What do YOU think I should do now?”

Three Year Old:  “Kill us?”
